  • Narrator: George liked visiting Professor Wiseman because she was the only person he knew who worked under a whale.
  • Curious George: Ooh. (chattering)
  • (knocking at door)
  • Professor Wiseman: (off-screen) I know those knocks. Come on in, guys.
  • (door opens)
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Wow, what's that?
  • Professor Wiseman: My hobby. Working on complex things relaxes me.
  • Curious George: Ooh.
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Ahh... Have you ever seen such a beautiful clock, George?
  • Curious George: Uh... (chattering)
  • Professor Wiseman: If you like it now, watch what happens every hour.
  • (cuckoos) (whirring) (band plays lively tune) (clangs bell)
  • Curious George: (chatters) Oh.
  • Professor Wiseman: So, what do you think?
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Very impress...
  • Curious George: (imitating band)
  • Professor Wiseman: (chuckles) I'm glad you liked it, George.
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Oh, We should go. The rocket presentation is starting soon.
  • Professor Wiseman: Are you coming with us, George? Or you want to stay here and watch the clock?
  • Curious George: Ooh. (excited chattering)
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Well, if it's okay with Professor Wiseman, it's okay with me.
  • Professor Wiseman: If you want to see the little people play again, move the minute hand once around to 12.
  • Curious George: Ooh. (excited chattering)
  • Professor Wiseman: Have fun.
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: How long does it take to build a clock like that?
  • Professor Wiseman: Oh, about three years.
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Oh, that reminds me... Huh! I'll be right back. George, be a good little monkey.
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Exactly.
  • Narrator: George wanted to see the little people again.
  • (loud chime)
  • (pigeons cooing)
  • Narrator: That looked like George's friend Compass, the almost-homing pigeon, because when all the other homing pigeons homed in on the statue... he almost made it.
  • Compass: (cooing)
  • Narrator: It was Compass, all right. George was happy to see his friend the pigeon, and Compass was happy to see his friend the...
  • (Compass dreams about all animals with marking an "X")
  • Narrator: ...well, whatever George was.
  • Curious George: (excited chattering) (imitates band)
  • Narrator: George wanted Compass to see Professor Wiseman's clock in action.
  • Curious George: Uh-oh.
  • Narrator: He couldn't fix the minute hand, and that's what made the little people play.
  • Curious George: (chattering) Ooh. (chattering)
  • Compass: (coos)
  • Narrator: He knew they were in there somewhere.
  • Curious George: (chattering) Aw... Ow! (groans) (chattering) Ooh. (dreams about Professor Wiseman fixing the clock)
  • Narrator: George remembered there was another way into the clock-- the back.
  • Curious George: (hooting) Aha. (chattering) Ah. (chattering) Ooh. (chattering)
  • Compass: (cooing)
  • Narrator: When you take something apart, it's a good idea to pay attention to what went where.
  • Compass: (cooing)
  • Narrator: Where could George find out how a clock's parts go together?
  • (clock tower ringing)
  • Narrator: The library. (clock tower ringing) Of course.
  • (electronic whooshing)
  • Narrator: The library's full of helpful books.
  • (elevator bell dings)
  • Narrator: And they've got a really big clock on top. He hoped studying the big clock... would show him exactly what to do with the little clock.
  • (clock tower ringing)
  • Curious George: (loud grinding)
  • (clock tower ringing)
  • (people murmuring)
  • Curious George: (chattering) Oh.
  • Narrator: George was glad that noise had stopped...
  • Curious George: (groans) Uh-oh.
  • Narrator: ...but maybe it was time to pack up and go home.
  • Man: That clock has never stopped, ever!
  • Andie: The big clock on the library stopped.
  • Stew: Well, let's go.
  • Stig: Wait, Stew. What are we supposed to do?
  • Andie: We're the fire department. We'll figure it out.
  • (sirens)
  • Andie: Mr. Reloj, the big clock stopped.
  • Mr. Reloj: The big library clock that the whole city depends upon?
  • All: Yeah.
  • Mr. Reloj: Oh, that clock has never stopped, ever. We must move like lightning. (walking)
  • (sirens)
  • Mr. Reloj: (walking while Andie grabs him)
  • Narrator: He was sure he had all the tools, but George still felt like he was missing something.
  • (footsteps approaching)
  • Curious George: (gasps)
  • (footsteps climbing stairs)
  • Mr. Reloj: Okay, Miss, thank you. Eh, please step outside, I must listen.
  • (clanging, rattling and banging) (creaking) (bell tolling)
  • All: (cheering)
  • Mr. Reloj: Whose tools are these?
  • Curious George: (chattering sadly)
  • Mr. Reloj: What's a little monkey like you doing in a huge clock like this?
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • Mr. Reloj: Well, would you like me to help you?
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • Mr. Reloj: Okay, and this goes there. Now, you see?
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • Mr. Reloj: (gasps) What a beautiful clock. Did you make it?
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • Mr. Reloj: (sighs) I know everything about clocks, but not one thing about understanding monkey.
  • Curious George: Oh. (chattering)
  • Mr. Reloj: (chuckles) Well, be more careful in the future, eh? Time is a precious thing.
  • Compass: (cooing)
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: Compass? What have we said about bringing pigeons indoors, George?
  • Curious George: Oh... (chattering, imitating cooing) Huh?
  • Professor Wiseman: Oh, it's all right. Are you showing him my clock?
  • Curious George: Uh-huh, uh-huh.
  • Professor Wiseman: (off-screen) Well, go ahead.
  • Man with the Yellow Hat: George, how did this heavy, metal toolbox get so...
  • (cuckoo clock music plays)
  • Curious George: (chattering)
  • (cuckoos, band music continues)
  • Boy #1: George is a , e can do things you can't do.
  • Boy #2: Like when he messed up the gears on the big clock.
  • Boy #3: Here's something we did with gears. This is the Science Discovery Museum.
  • Denise: And what do you see in this case over here?
  • All: Bicycles.
  • Boy #1: The bottom one had two gears that were the same size and...
  • Boy #2: The bicycle on top had a big gear with a smaller gear attaching to the chains. So if you move the pedal it moves the wheel that moves the generator that turns the light on.
  • Denise: And what's happening with the light?
  • Boy #2: It's turning on really light.
  • Denise: Now do you want to try the one below?
  • Boy #2: It's not coming on as much as that one.
  • Girl: A big gear that goes to a little gear makes more power, and two same sized gears makes less power.
  • Boy #3: I think you can use gears to make a machine go faster and slower.
